NATIONAL SAFE BOATING WEEK & WEAR YOUR LIFE JACKET AT WORK DAY

District 7 Members,

National Safe Boating Week (NSBW) runs from Saturday, May 17 through Friday, May 23,

2025, and is a key opportunity for us to advance our mission of promoting recreational

boating safety throughout our district. As members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, we serve

as the visible face of boating safety in our communities, and your engagement during this

week matters.

To kick off NSBW, Friday, May 16 is National Wear Your Life Jacket at Work Day. This

lighthearted but impactful initiative encourages everyone, Auxiliarists, marina staff, boating

partners, dealers, and the public, to wear a life jacket at work and help raise awareness

about the importance of life jacket use

We are: 20 thousand members serving our nation and our communities in 980 local units. As of June 30, 2025, we have contributed 50 million hours this year in support of the U.S. Coast Guard, including in the classroom, at the ramp & pier, and operating 295 vessels, 109 aircraft and 490 radio facilities

What is the mission of the Coast Guard Auxiliary?

The Coast Guard Auxiliary’s primary mission is to contribute to the safety and security of citizens, ports, waterways, and coastal regions. This involves a combination of recreational boating safety efforts, Coast Guard support, and contributing to homeland security.
