Hurricane Season Starts Today – Be Prepared
1 June 2025
As we enter hurricane season, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of readiness, not only for our communities, but for each of us as members of District 7. The safety and accountability of our members are always a top priority before, during, and after any storm.
All members are asked to take the following actions immediately:
- Review and update your contact information in AuxData II.
This includes your phone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contacts. Accurate information is critical for timely notifications and accountability.
- Check your personal and family hurricane preparedness plans.
Ensure you have a plan in place for evacuation, shelter, and communications should a storm impact your area.
Unit Leaders: Please verify and update your phone call trees or accountability rosters. A current and functional calling tree is essential to ensure we can account for every member quickly in the event of a storm or activation. Test your calling trees periodically and report any issues to your Chain of Leadership and Management (COLM).
District leadership and our emergency management team will continue to monitor developing weather systems throughout the season. Your attention to these preparedness actions ensures that we remain ready to support each other and our operational partners if called upon.
Thank you for your continued commitment and service. Stay safe, stay ready.
